Since its inception, Amboseli Conservation Program has strived to conserve Amboseli’s wildlife and its ecosystem to the benefit of its people  based on the following goals:
Conduct research on African Ecosystems
Developing tools for identifying threats to the Biodiversity
Develop conservation policies and practices that benefit local communities
Build local and national consensus and capacity for conservation

As a result of the unseasonal rains in January through April, conditions in Amboseli have changed from a severe dry season to abundant pasture, with a recovery in livestock and wildlife conditions projected to last through at least June and July.
